Yukio Miyashita loves data management. The type of data he is interested in varies greatly – the scores of the professional baseball teams, attendance records of the care workers, bus time table, etc. He treasures his calculator and organizer. His earnest character reflects on his artworks. One of the distinctive features of Yukio Miyashita’s drawing style is a motif of tiny squares that he meticulously colors. It can take him a year to finish a piece. Another characteristic feature of his work is copying letters from English newspapers, although it seems to be more of a task than an artistic creation to him.
