Giovanni Galli was born in Florence in 1954. He had a secondary school instruction and was employed as a sales representative in his father’s toiletry cosmetics and perfumery business. When his father died Galli worked temporary for the Public Expenditure Department of the city of Florence. From 1993 ha has been living in a mental home and has been attending the Tinaia creative studio. It was here that Giovanni who had never been interested in painting, not to say trained in painting, discovered and committed himself to this practice. He uses both sides of the cardboard to stage women, aircrafts, comics characters, all of which are sexually to become symbols of their author’s sexuality. His work can be found at The Museum of Everything, London.
